Welcome to Troop 22! Troop 22 is a large and active Troop. Each month our Scouts organize and run a Troop outing such as a campout, a backpack, bike or fishing trip or a Troop-wide competition or game. On these outings, our Scouts learn to master Scout skills such as camping, orienteering, cooking, first aid, knots and lashings and so much more! Each summer our Troop participates in a Boy Scout Summer Camp. This is an incredible opportunity to bond with the Troop and to advance and earn merit badges.
In addition, our Troop has the tradition of taking a trip to one of the three High Adventure bases each summer: Philmont Scout Ranch – backpacking trek in New Mexico, Florida Sea Base for water sports and fishing and Northern Tier in Canada for canoeing. These very challenging trips are for older, experienced Scouts. It is something that our younger Scouts look forward to and work hard to gain the skills necessary in order to participate when they are old enough.
Our Troop meets weekly. During these weekly meetings, we spend most of our time preparing for our outings. It is during the outings that the growth and magic of Scouting happens! Service is a major part of Scouting with Troop 22 and there are several service opportunities through out the Scout year.
