Troop 22 Summer Camps

Each summer Troop 22 attends at least one Boy Scout Summer Camp.  Most of the time we alternate between our own Council’s two camps: Camp Emerald Bay on Catalina Island and Camp Whitsett in the Sequoia Mountains.  Both are very well run and provide a terrific opportunity for our Scouts to advance and earn merit badges as well as to have a whopping good time!

Summer Camp is Good for the Whole Troop -- Don't Miss It!

The purpose of a week at summer camp is to strengthen the troop, by providing a week together having fun and doing things together.  Summer camp is a fantastic opportunity for our Scouts and an important event for our Troop and our Scouts as well.  The Scouts really get to know one another on this week long action packed event.  The leaders get to know the Scouts, and the Scouts get to know the leaders.  Young Scouts learn that they can be “on their own” for a week without their families.  Older Scouts learn that they can help their fellow Scout as they help themselves advance.  The 6 nights at summer camp comprise 1/3 of the camping nights for the troop.  Summer camp is an experience not to be missed!
