Snow Sports Outing

What is it?

Troop 22 Scouts love the snow and snow sports.  This Snow Sports outing is usually a day trip to Mountain High, where some Scouts can learn to ski or snowboard, others can practice their skills and competent Snow Sportsman can work on the  Snow Sports Merit Badge.

Details from 2003 Outing:

We did not get the group discount rate, so either pick up a discounted ticket at Ralph's ($33) or take money to buy the ticket at Mountain High ($43).  Even if you plan to get the beginner package, you can get a discount by purchasing the regular Ralph's lift ticket and upgrading it to a beginner package once you get to Mountain High.  It looks like it's $12 more for the upgrade... check out the Mountain High website!

We will leave Prince of Peace at 6:30am SHARP!  We will be off the slopes by 5:00 pm and back to Prince of Peace by 7:00 - 7:30pm.

Be prepared to sign a permission slip at drop off or print and bring with you.

We will probably need drivers!  Come out and ski or snowboard with us!!

Bring: 

• sack lunch or money to buy lunch and snacks (probably expensive),
• snow board or ski's or money to rent them there ($25 skis, $30 snowboard),
• money for the lift tickets and lessons (optional) see above!
• waterproof pants, warm jacket, sunglasses or goggles, helmet, gloves, hat
• sunscreen
• You will want 2 sets of clothes.  One to travel in (uh... your uniform!) and one to ski/board in.  You will be wet when you get off the slopes and want to change back into dry travel clothes, including undergarments, particularly socks!
