Snow CampING OUTING

What is it?

Our Troop knows how to survive in the cold, wet conditions of snow camp.  Our Scouts spend weeks at troop meetings learning these challenging winter survival skills.  They learn how to make a shelter in the snow and the importance of staying as dry as possible.  If we're lucky there is even snow when we plan our campout!

Details from the 2006 Outing

  • March 4-5  (Swapped with March Outing due to NO SNOW!)
  • Mt. Pinos in the Los Padres National Forest
  • This will be a snow shoe outing,  we will make our own snow shoes
  • Mandatory equipment: SNOW CAMP PACK LIST must be able to get out of wet stuff!
  • Meet at Prince of Peace at 7:00 am
