TROOP 22 COOK-OFF RULES

 

*      Patrols will prepare a three-course meal consisting of an appetizer or soup, a main dish and a dessert.

*     Patrols will choose the menu. Hot dogs and hamburgers, as usual, are not approved menu items.

*     Ready-made meals do not qualify for the contest. For example: Cup-O-Noodles for soup, canned soup, prepared backpackers’ meals, etc. Meals should be prepared from basic ingredients, whether fresh or dehydrated.

*     Patrols should make every effort to maintain the cost per person to $10.00 or less.

*     Patrols can request the assistance (hands-off) of one parent (non-scout leader)

That includes your equipment (pots, pans stoves, etc.), the table, the bench and your hands!

*      Only one prize per patrol!

*     Overall winner is patrol with maximum points out of 330 possible.

*     Best Appetizer is patrol with maximum points in appetizer category out of possible 190 (i.e. eliminate scores for the other two courses).

*     Best Main dish (Same scoring as above)

*     Best Dessert (Same scoring as above)

*     Best Scout Effort for patrol with maximum points after discarding Innovation, taste and Challenge. (Maximum possible 150)

 

Bonuses

No Star or Life Scout in the patrol: add 10 points

No adult coaching (see above):  add 20 points

No one with the Cooking Merit Badge in the patrol: add 10 points
