Old Agoura Bike Day Trip

What is it?

This will be a great outing.  We are fortunate to have such fantastic riding trails so close to us in Agoura!!

Originally we had planned an overnight bike trip to Camp Pendleton but unfortunately we were unable to get enough adult leaders and adult drivers to pull off that complicated adventure.  Fortunately we can still have a terrific bike riding experience close to home!

Details for the 2005 Trip

• When: Saturday, May 14th, 2005, 7:30 a.m.
• Meet at Old Agoura Park baseball diamond parking lot
  • We will ride from Old Agoura Park up to and into Chesebro Park
  • The park will be busy with lots of bikes, horses and hikers (more adult riders would be very welcome, call Kris or Tom Williams 874-9752 if you can help)
  • Find driving directions below.
• What to bring:
  • Your already-safety-checked bicycle
  • Your helmet
  • Lots of water to carry with you on your ride (camelback, bike water bottle etc.)
  • Sunscreen already on your body and more to carry on your ride
  • Sack lunch to carry on your ride (in a small backpack?, flowered basket on your handlebars?)
  • Wear your Troop T-shirt, bike riding shorts, and bike riding shoes or tennis
• Pick up: 3:00 pm at Old Agoura Park
• No patrol meals are necessary so don’t go shopping for your patrol! (I apologize if you have already done your patrol’s shopping)
• Directions to Old Agoura Park (meet and pickup location)
  • Take 101 north to the Chesebro exit
  •  Turn right at the off ramp
  • Go down the hill to the stop sign
  • Don’t turn right on Chesebro but continue straight (you will be on Driver)
  • Turn right at the next street, Colodny Ave
  • The park and baseball diamond are on the right just past the corner.
  • Turn into the lot, park and unload.
  • Look for Kris Williams (she will likely be on her horse)

Mandatory Bike Inspection

• Prince of Peace Parking Lot
• Saturday April 30, 10am
• Bring your bike and helmet!!
• Items will be available for purchase at discounted rates for Scouts
