Troop 22 SEW and SHARE

(AKA - Stitching Party)

Our magnificent Troop 22 neckerchiefs are not bought from a store!  They are lovingly hand made by the parents and other volunteers.  Each year we hold 2-3 Stitching parties to assemble the neckerchiefs.  Instead of the sewing of the neckerchiefs being a huge job put on the shoulders of one or two reluctant volunteers, we make it a party!!  We iron, cut, sew and socialize and before we know it, we are well on our way to restocking our neckerchief supplies.  If you know how to sew or even if you don’t, please come out to help.  We will train you!  The troop committee provides refreshments!  This is an especially nice event for parents of Scouts who have already graduated from our troop to come and lend a hand and share stories and experiences from days gone by.  New parents are highly encouraged to attend so that we can get to know you and you can learn the neckerchief sewing process.  This way we can continue to pass down the tradition and our favorite troop stories!

We could always use the following items if you can bring them:

  • Sewing machines
  • Sharp Sewing Scissors
  • Ironing Boards
  • Irons
  • Cutting Boards
  • Pins
  • Sharp wit
  • Juicy stories
